go now you are forgiven
Almost as good as discovering a band before anyone else does is discovering a band everyone used to know about but which has since broken up/changed genres/been largely forgotten (see, for example, Green Day). While driving my brother's Volvo around Southern California, I listened to his Dispatch CD pretty much continuously. Like Jack Johnson, it's this chill music--how did they make this while living in Boston? It seems unthinkable--that is best listened to with the windows down, the moon roof open, sunset along PCH, hair whipping around your head, singing along rather inadvisably loudly. Not that I sing, dear friends, no.
